Remember to allow yourself to splurge a bit. You don’t have to suddenly go out and buy everything but a judicious splurge can be nice.
One area I saved was on my dress. Still, I wanted to look nice. I wanted something that I could wear again and would last. I thought my wedding jewelry might be a good way to splurge. Pearls are traditional, but my personal style is about as far from a sedate strand of pearls as you can get. I wanted something that with the right dress would be elegant but with the rest of my wardrobe would be fun and eye catching.
I wandered over to Crystals and Jewelry. There I custom ordered two necklaces (one for me and one as my bridesmaid gift) and matching earrings. I told Robyn what colors I had and enclosed a link to the photo of my dress, so she knew what I was matching. She asked some key questions–showing me links to certain styles. She came up with a design she had made and suggested that with different stones. It was perfect.
While the jewelry wasn’t cheap (I consider anything over $25 expensive), it was perfect. I can wear the necklace (and have) with many different outfits. It suits a lot of different looks.Remember accessories are versatile. Consider spending a bit extra on them because you can wear them again and again. This isn’t just a money saving bridal tip–it’s a great fashion tip too.
