The I Do Foundation is a wedding site that allows you to sign up for a free wedding website (although their interface is not that user friendly). It also allows you to register with some retailers. By using this site to register, you can donate a portion of all money spent on your gifts to a charity.

Additionally, if you order invitations through the I Do Foundation’s  site, 10% of your invitation order will go to the charity of your choice.

Don’t need anything? Have your guests give monetary gifts to the charity of your choice.

What Do you Need?

I realize this is about saving money and you may wonder why I have posts about Registry Ideas. Aren’t I saving you money?  Think about this.  What will you need? Do you need to fill your registry with the latest gadgets that look interesting but you might never use?

When registering think about your life style.  If you aren’t the sort of person to entertain formally, then why are you registering for china or for formal stonewear?  If do entertain formally, think about whether that china is dishwasher safe.

The traditional registry was geared towards couples setting up a new home.  Now that so many people have lived on their own, change the rules to suit you.  Have your flatware and dishes?  Who can’t use more linens? Maybe you need more places to store things.   Think storage containers.   They might not be glamourous, but they are useful!
