While most professional photographers will have your photos online so you can share with friends and family far away, it’s hard to get all those other photos uploaded to one place so everyone can share. Not any more.
Check out the Wedding Lens.
Another consideration: if you make it this easy for your friends to take a lot of shots, why not save your photography budget for few formal portraits? This means hiring your expensive professional for less time (and less money) and you spend less on lots of pictures you “might” want.
Photographers are one place you aren’t ever supposed to go cheap. There are some good ways to find lower cost photographers. Ask at the photography department of a local college. Sometimes you can find really talented young pre-professionals for a very small charge. Often they are thrilled to make some money over a weekend and build their portfolio. Be sure to get references!
Another place to look is Craig’s List for your city. Sometimes you find people who do wedding photography but don’t want to spend a fortune on the cut throat advertising the more expensive photographers use. You can always say no if you don’t like the portfolios you’re seeing. It could be worth checking out.
